The core business of the new nationwide GDP network focuses on temperature-controlled general cargo transports - from parcels to pallets. In 2019 the idea of a pharmaceutical network was born, in 2020 the cooperating companies from the logistics sector will put the concept into practice with their market entry.
Ten shareholders have founded GDP network solutions GmbH, based in Biebesheim am Rhein. Managing Director Jürgen Oetzel: "All the companies involved, including our external partners, guarantee seamless temperature control based on an innovative IT infrastructure - and that throughout Germany. In the distribution of pharmaceutical products, GDP network solutions meets all legal requirements of the GDP guideline on Good Distribution Practice and has the corresponding certificates. Quality and security requirements have the highest priority across all partners.
The service profile of the service provider for all consignment sizes includes the transport of pharmaceuticals and healthcare products in the ambient area. In addition, the network offers a wide range of services for pharmaceutical customers, from temperature-controlled storage and order picking to manufacturing services in accordance with § 13.1, German Drug Law. The network companies design comprehensive solutions in other sectors, such as in the demanding narcotics logistics or serialization of drugs.
The participating companies cover all regions in Germany with a hub as a transshipment point in Kassel. A modern fleet of vehicles is in use, this means environmentally friendly engines, state-of-the-art telematics and disposition tools. GDP network solutions operates with the objective of generating maximum customer satisfaction. Personal contact persons on site are therefore a matter of course for the network. This maxim is represented by the medium-sized, owner-managed logistics specialists of GDP network solutions with around 2675 employees, more than 1000 vehicles and a total turnover of over 500 million euros, of which the pharmaceutical logistics sector generates around 20 percent.
